The Bishops Castle & District Land Trust is dedicated to providing the local community with affordable land for a variety of purposes, but we depend on the generosity and involvement of local people and our supporters elsewhere to flourish.

The more members we have, the more financial help and support we can get from local councils, grant providers and local landowners. Joining the BCCLT is easy – Simply buy shares in the Land Trust (minimum shareholding £5). Every shareholder has one vote (regardless of the number of shares they have) at the BCCLT’s AGM, and one vote in the election of the Board, which runs the day-to-day affairs of the Land Trust. Every shareholder also has the right to stand for election to the Board, and the right to propose motions at the AGM. In this way, the policies and priorities of the Land Trust are set by it’s members – local people.

You can buy more than the minimum shareholding. Please support us by doing this – it is a great investment in the future of Bishop’s Castle and District. Although we can’t pay interest, shares are redeemable.
